Wednesday night, the parish council had the opportunity to explain why they have decided to victimise Bill. Or, for that matter, defend the bullying tone of their letter to the National Society of Allotment and Leisure Gardeners, to whom Bill turned for advice.
None of it. No fireworks. No denunciations. No ejections.
Bill’s ‘supporter’ in the audience (it just about qualified as an audience), Eamon (not-real-name), challenged the council to come clean. The council sat impassive.
Matters moved to the mundane. A parishioner spoke about local government reorganisation in Devon (link to pdf).
