Meanwhile, back at the raised bed, it has been a bumber year for salad leaves. Due to building work (note the scaffolding and bits of demolised chimney still littering the bed), I only used a small bit of the raised bed this year.
Despite all the disruption, dust and that, all four leaf types are doing well. The spinach is threatening to bolt for good, but so far it’s produced some delicious leaves. Same with the rocket though with cooler weather that problem has subsided. The rocket is very peppery. Much better than that supermarket stuff.
I’m living on salad (and a bit of cheese) sandwiches. Here’s hoping that the tomatoes and cucumbers are ready before everything goes to seed.
